It seems like now’a’days everyone is focused on creating Trip Itineraries for Long weekends. And sure, you’ll definitely benefit from adding an extra day to your weekend, but what about all those other weekends that are only two days long? You might be tempted to sit at home and watch Netflix all weekend, but wouldn’t you rather spend two days in Las Vegas? It might seem like an unattainable trip to do in a weekend, but with proper planning, you can make this weekend trip a reality!

Our trips to Las Vegas have ranged from a 4-night stay to 36 hours of hustle. Luckily, Vegas is one of those cities that is always on so time really isn’t an obstacle here! If you’re looking for a quick weekend in Vegas, here’s exactly what you need to do.

Saturday in Las Vegas

I told you this was a weekend trip and I meant it! This weekend itinerary will cost you zero vacation days. It seriously is two days in Las Vegas. You’re going to want to grab an early morning flight to Las Vegas to get the most out of your trip. Like so early you won’t even want to make coffee before you leave your house so that you can sleep for an extra five minutes. There will be plenty of time to grab coffee at the airport. Hop in a ride-share and just get to Vegas already!

One of the most overwhelming things about Las Vegas is that you can never go anywhere without seeing a slot machine. When you land in the airport, you’ll be greeted with hundreds of them. If you’ve never been to Las Vegas before, go ahead and stick a $5 bill into one of the airport slot machines, just for fun!

Las Vegas Hotels

If you have an early morning flight and make it to Las Vegas before check-in, you might think that you have to hang onto your bags until your room is available. That might be true most places, but it is absolutely not the case in Las Vegas! As soon as you land, you should head straight to your hotel. You can check your bags in with the bellhop or front desk (free of charge!) at every hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

It is easiest to go straight for the hotel you plan on staying at, that way you can just keep your bags there until it is time to check in, but if you’d prefer to move them from hotel-to-hotel, you don’t have to be a guest to check your bags. The Casinos want to make spending money as easy as possible, they’d gladly hold all your stuff while you explore!

Where to Stay in Las Vegas

There are a lot of different types of hotels in Las Vegas. Some are kitschy or reminiscent of the classic Las Vegas feel. Others are high end and elegant and make you feel like a queen.

My favorite hotel on the Las Vegas Strip is Park MGM. Park MGM is different than the MGM Grand Resort, and many people get the two confused. Park MGM is a brand new hotel to the Las Vegas Strip and it has a very classy vibe. The best part about it is that they will soon be completely smoke free! The only hotel on the Las Vegas Strip to make this move. I love everything about this hotel!

The Entrance to the Park MGM Resort.

Where to Eat in Las Vegas

If you have decided to stay at the Park MGM, there are tons of options there. They have a sports bar inside the casino, a restaurant, and their very own “Eataly.” If you’re not familiar with Eataly, it’s a small farmer’s-market-styled eatery where you can grab freshly made Italian food. Don’t put too much stake in it’s street-market style, though. Eataly is a chain franchise. There are also plenty of quick-bite options at New York New York right next door to the Park MGM.

If you’re ready to dive into Vegas headfirst, you might even want to hit up a buffet! The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has a great buffet and it is right across the street from Park MGM.

If you’re looking to try something a little more locally grown, check out Bruxie, just outside of the New York New York.

The Bellagio Fountain Show

Once you have your luggage checked in at a hotel, it’s time to explore the iconic Las Vegas stops. The first place you should check out is the Bellagio Fountain. This iconic Las Vegas landmark will get you excited for everything else Las Vegas has in store or you. You can walk down the strip to the fountain or you can jump on the Tram!

There is a free tram from Park MGM to Bellagio, called the Aria Express Tram. The tram doesn’t save you a ton of time, but it will save you some energy. One thing that surprised me about walking down the Las Vegas Strip is how many stair cases there are to climb! The street is lined with pedestrian walkways to keep everyone safe, and walking down the strip means you’re constantly climbing stairs up and down. Taking the tram will save you a bit of that so early into your trip.

The Bellagio Fountain on a Stormy Day in Las Vegas. The High Roller Ferris Wheel is in the background (more on this later!)

The Bellagio Fountain runs every half hour in the afternoons, so be sure to check your clock to make sure you’ll time it out right! There’s nothing worse than finding your spot at the fountain only to realize you’ve got 27 minutes to go until the next show.

Visit the Eiffel Tower

Once you’re at Bellagio, the next best stop to check out would be the Paris Hotel. (Look for the Eiffel Tower and head that way!) You can go up into the Eiffel Tower if you’d like. Tickets are $16 during the day, or $22 at night. You might be able to find a better price on Groupon, so be sure to check that before you buy! I love using Groupon when in Las Vegas. Check out the other apps I love on my post 3 Apps that can Make Your Next Trip to Las Vegas More Affordable.

The Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas.

Depending on the time of year you’re visiting, you might have burned up a good chunk of daylight already. If you’ve still got some time left before sunset, check out the French Onion Soup at the Paris Hotel’s Mon Ami Gabi French Bistro. It’s delicious!

Explore Fremont Street

If I’m being completely honest, Fremont Street isn’t my favorite. But if this is your first time in Las Vegas, it is definitely worth checking out. On Fremont Street, you can visit the original hotels and check out the Light Show on the ceiling (yes, ceiling) that runs above Fremont every hour on the hour between 6pm and 1am. If you’re feeling extra daring, you can even zip-line above the crowds of people. The zip-line, called the “Slotzilla,” will cost between $20 and $45 per ticket depending on which package you choose.

The Neon Museum

Just a short ride away from Fremont Street is one of my favorite attractions in Las Vegas: The Neon Museum.

The Neon Museum, a must see spot on your next trip to Las Vegas!

The Neon Museum is an absolute treasure to the City of Las Vegas, and I highly recommend you make this a part of your trip! While you can visit the Neon Museum any time between 9am and 10:40pm, I really recommend visiting at night. All the working neons will be lit up! There is a guided tour (the only option available at night) where a docent will tell you the stories behind each and every sign. It’s a great way to get to know the history of this area a little bit better.

The High Roller Ferris Wheel

You’ve had a long day, and if you’re ready to turn it in and unwind at your hotel room at this point, I totally understand. But to take full advantage of the short amount of time you have on your weekend in Las Vegas, you might want to sneak in a few more stops.

Another must-see Las Vegas destination is the High Roller Ferris Wheel at the Linq Hotel. They host a “Happier Half Hour” ride which, as they say, is a happy hour in the sky. Take a ride in the Ferris wheel car that comes with a full bar! The name of the game seems to be to drink as quickly as you can to get your money’s worth. Ask for your bartender to make you a Green Tea. It’s Jason’s favorite drink in Las Vegas! Tickets for the High Roller can be pricey, but Groupon can help you out with discounted tickets.

The High Roller Ferris Wheel at the LINQ hotel in Las Vegas, home to the “Happier Half Hour” an open bar in the sky!

I love checking out the High Roller at night because you can see all the beautiful sparkling lights below. You might even be lucky enough to catch a fountain show at the Bellagio from way up high if you time it out just right!

The Las Vegas Casinos

I don’t get much sleep when I spend a weekend in Las Vegas. After spending the day exploring all my favorite stops, I like to take a quick visit to one of the casinos to wrap up the night. New York New York and Excalibur are my two favorite spots to play at. I always seem to be very lucky at New York New York, and find some games here that I can’t find anywhere else. I love Excalibur because they are the only place that has $1 video Blackjack. This “table” is usually very crowded, but worth it if you can get a spot. We could play at the video Blackjack tables for hours. The cocktail waitresses will set you up with a few free drinks while you gamble (be sure to give them a tip!) and I find this the perfect place to wind down, Vegas-style.

data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>

Free drinks at the Casinos in Las Vegas

The first time I visited Las Vegas, I wasn’t convinced that the rumor of free drinks at the casinos was true. After all, things can be so expensive in Las Vegas. I was certain they were going to stick me with a bill after bringing me my drink. But it’s true! Drinks are completely free while you’re gambling at the casinos…but with a couple of exceptions.

My first time ordering, I made the mistake of asking for an Old Fashioned, my go-to drink no matter where I am. The cocktail waitress kindly told me that she would be happy to bring me one, but that she would have to charge me for it. The kinds of drinks they offer for free are pretty basic, but free is free, right?

It might seem overwhelming to have to order a drink when you don’t have a menu and don’t know what is free and not free. To make it easy, here’s a quick list of a few cocktail favorites that you can get from the casino for free:

Gin & Tonic

Vodka Tonic

Jack & Ginger

Jack & Coke

Mimosa

Vodka Sprite

Whiskey Sour

Please tip your cocktail waitress $1 or $2 per drink at a minimum!

Now that you’ve had a few drinks (or a few too many drinks!) and lost a bit of money, it’s time to stumble up to your room and go to sleep for a few hours.

Sunday in Las Vegas

If you would like to stay close to my favorite end of the Strip, MGM Grand, Excalibur, and Luxor all offer breakfast buffets at roughly the same price. We loved the buffet at MGM Grand! (And you can even get one of these buffets for free! Find out how from this post: If You Can’t Afford to Travel, Travel to Las Vegas.)

If you’re interested in venturing off the strip for breakfast, The Orleans and The Golden Nugget both have delicious buffets, too!

If you’re looking to try some semi-local fares, check out Bruxie or Eggslut.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay

The Las Vegas Casinos really have every kind of attraction you can imagine, and the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay really proves that. This aquarium is surprisingly large and worth stopping by at least once. Tickets will cost you $25, but you might be able to get these for free or discounted. These tickets are often a free reward on one of my favorite Apps for Saving Money in Las Vegas.

" class="wp-image-862"/>
I was very excited to see all the sharks at the Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.

Exploring the Casino Lobby

Seeing all of the lobbies inside the Casinos could be an entire day itself, but there are a couple of notable ones that are worth stopping at before you wrap up your two days in Las Vegas.

The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio is an incredible lobby feature. This is completely free to view and is full of jaw-dropping floral arrangements.

From the Bellagio, you’re only a few hotels down from the Venetian which has beautiful facade walls and fountains, and canals where you can take a gondola ride! The Venetian also has tons of shopping if you want to go window shop, or maybe even buy an extra special souvenir to take home.

Concluding Two Days in Las Vegas

Unfortunately, your time in Vegas has come to an end. It’s time to collect your bags from the hotel Bell Desk and get to the airport. Be sure to give yourself some extra time to get through airport security. I’d recommend at least an hour and a half in the Vegas airport, just to be safe!

Grab yourself a coffee, and relax at your airport gate until it’s time to head home. Scroll through some photos, post something to Instagram (and be sure to tag me in them so I can see it!) and unwind.

I love to spend my plane rides back home planning out my week. It gives me a little bit of sanity when I have to head right back to work the next day. Make a grocery list, and a to-do list, and then get some much needed sleep on the plane.

That’s my perfect Weekend in Las Vegas Itinerary. It’s the best way to take an action-filled (and much-deserved vacation) without taking a single vacation day. More weekend trips means more opportunities to travel. Just because you have a day job, doesn’t mean you can’t still explore new places!

Las Vegas is one of our most favorite travel destinations, and with proper planning, it is also one of our most affordable travel destinations.

Every time we return from a trip to Vegas, I have the same conversation with my mother, “How can you afford to go there?” And I tell her, very matter-of-factly, “I can’t afford not to go there!”

Las Vegas offers so many discounts and completely free services, it almost seems silly not to go! For a fraction of what similar trips cost, we can have a luxurious weekend in Las Vegas.

“How can I make that happen?” you ask. Keep on reading and I’ll share my secrets with you.

I know what you’re thinking, and no, this isn’t one of those long-con sales pitches with a call to purchase at the end before any of the real details are spilled. I’m not going to try to trick you into buying a timeshare. And I’m not going to make you sign up for anything. I’m just sharing all of my best secrets on how we save hundreds of dollars on our travel to Las Vegas every year.

Free Flight to Las Vegas

Free flights are the main reason we are able to travel as often as we do. Oftentimes, the flight is half the expense of our trip. Being able to use points instead of dollars was a game changer for us.

I’m not here to sell you anything, as promised, but I will share that we signed up for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Visa a few years ago and have not once regretted our decision to sign up. This card does come with an annual fee, which I have found pays for itself in no time. We rack up points on every purchase, and get anniversary points every year. They make it so easy to keep getting free flights, so we keep taking them!

We got ours a few years ago and have not once regretted our decision to sign up. This card does come with an annual fee, which I have found pays for itself in no time. We rack up points on every purchase, and get anniversary points every year. They make it so easy to keep getting free flights, so we keep taking them!

In addition to the Rapid Rewards Visa, you can also earn Rapid Rewards points by joining their Diner Rewards program, or by joining their Rewards Survey program. Both are free to join and don’t require any annual fees.

The Diner Rewards program syncs up with any credit card (no Rapid Rewards Visa required!) It allows you to earn points on purchases made at partner restaurants. Additionally, you can score extra points for reviews!

The Rewards Survey program has limited enrollment, but once you’re in, you are able to complete market research surveys to get Rapid Rewards points. Surveys take anywhere between 5 – 50 minutes to complete, and you can earn between 2 and 100 points per survey depending on the complexity.

Free Rooms, Shows, Buffets, and Slots!

The biggest secret to is one you may have already heard of, and if you haven’t you will soon be converted into a fan. My Vegas Slots is a phone and Facebook app that allows you to win real, free rewards for your trip to Vegas. (Download for Android or iOS)

You are only able to redeem three My Vegas rewards per account per 30-day period. There are rumored ways to get around this, but no official word from My Vegas on how to unlock more slots. We only have three reward slots unlocked each, and have no problem making this work for our visit.

Free Rooms in Las Vegas

There are two ways to get free rooms during your stay in Las Vegas. The first way is through the My Vegas App. A two-night comp’d stay, when available, will cost you right around 200,000 points. There are black out date restrictions on this reward. Be sure to check the calendar before committing to this reward.

The other way to get free rooms during your stay is a little more up to chance. Once you enroll in the free MLife rewards program (which you will need to do in order to redeem any of these rewards) you will start receiving emails with offers for discounted and eventually comp’d rooms. We receive monthly offers that have ranged anywhere from $39 per night rooms all the way to three comp’d nights. If you haven’t got an offer you like, hold out, another one is just around the corner.

See Related Post: A Sneak Peek at the New Park MGM Resort in Las Vegas

Free Shows in Las Vegas

There is a very easy way to get tickets to free Cirque Du Solis tickets through the My Vegas app. Free show tickets are offered all the time. It is easy to get tickets to see shows like Zumanity or Ka, and more difficult to get tickets to see Beatles’ Love. My husband and I are able to book these rewards separately. We are still able to select seats right next to each other without any trouble.

While there are no black out dates to these shows, there are certain shows that only run on certain nights of the week. Be sure to check the show schedules to find which one will fit with the dates you travel to Las Vegas.

Free Buffets in Las Vegas

While you can redeem reward points for a completely free buffet, we find it more beneficial to redeem the rewards for buy-one-get-one buffets. Instead of using up two of our collective six rewards slots, we only use up one, which means we get more meals during our stay. For the two of us, it makes more sense to spend $25 on a brunch for two that will keep us full for the whole day, than use up our reward slots early on completely free meals, only to have to pay for us both later on.

There are free and bogo buffets at every MGM owned Resort, and you’re able to use these rewards to try new buffets, or return to the same one over and over.

Free Slots in Las Vegas

This is one of my favorite rewards to redeem during our stay because I love to gamble but hate to lose money. With the FreePlay reward, I get the best of both worlds. On the My Vegas app, you have the choice between a $25 or $50 dollar FreePlay reward. There is a catch that comes with this reward, however…

To receive the FreePlay reward, you do have to pay for a hotel room at the casino you are redeeming it at. For the $25 reward, you must pay for at least a one-night stay. For the $50 reward, you must be staying at the hotel you redeem it at for at least two nights.

Since the value of a two nights in a hotel room is higher than a $50 FreePlay, it would seem like this would not be the most ideal reward to redeem. However, I love getting this reward because when we travel to Las Vegas, we are often there on Holiday weekends due to our work schedules. These weekends often fall on black-out dates for the free night stay. A little bit of extra money to play with is a nice perk when free rooms cannot be used.

Free Table Play (New!) in Las Vegas

New to My Vegas is a reward they are calling MatchPlay. With the MatchPlay reward, you are again required to stay at least one night at the hotel you are redeeming it at. However, it appears this one can be used in conjunction with the FreePlay.

For MatchPlay, you can get $15 or $30 towards free table play if you put down the same amount yourself. As the name implies, they’re matching what you bet. This won’t get you very far, but it’s good for a free hand or two on the Black Jack tables.

Update: Check out two more apps I love to use when we travel to Las Vegas that also make our trip more affordable! You might even have these apps downloaded to your phone already!

Three Apps that can Make Your Next Trip to Vegas More Affordable

Fly for free. Stay for free. Play for free. Eat for free. See shows for free. With so many ways to enjoy Vegas completely free of charge, can you really afford to not take advantage of a Las Vegas getaway?

If you’re staying up-to-date on my Instagram, you know that we just got back from a trip to Las Vegas. This is an annual trip for us, and we are always looking for something new to do during our stay. This year, we were very excited to give the new Park MGM Resort a try. Did it live up to the hype?

During our visit last year, they were well into construction on what was formerly known as the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino. We were very excited to see the final result of the remodel and rebranding of this hotel, now known as Park MGM, and we were not disappointed.

You might recognize these chandeliers in the Park MGM Resort, they predate the remodel and are a carryover from it’s days as the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino.

Park MGM is a collaboration between MGM Resorts and the Sydell Group intended to attract millennial visitors. As much as I hate being swept up in the “millennial” age group, they absolutely found their target audience with me.

Our beautifully designed room at the Park MGM with crisp whites accented with jewel-tone Greens. All the artwork on the walls is unique and feels far from the usual hotel art.

Park MGM is modern, sleek, and comfortable. I was absolutely blow away by it, especially by comparison to the other kitschy hotels on the strip. Park MGM makes it feel like you’re staying at a luxury hotel, but at half the cost.

Instead of a traditional check-in counter, there are upwards of 30 kiosks lined up throughout the lobby, which at no time seemed to be completely in use. Hotel staff members were very actively approaching guests as they checked in to help them with the entire process. With absolutely no wait at all, the check in and check out process was a breeze.

A large “tree” fixture looming over the check-in kiosks. You can see four staff members in this photo alone, all eagerly ready to help guests with the check in process.

We used the fitness facilities during our stay as well. There were plenty of machines to go around any time of day, water and towels were available on site, and the Wi-Fi was strong enough to stream videos in this area.

The name Park MGM gives you a small taste of what you can expect throughout the rest of the hotel. The lobby, hallways, and rooms all have a subtle “park” theme to them. There is lots of greenery, and mossy murals on the walls. The artwork in the hallways depicts people sitting in a large park green space. Our room was crisp white, accented by rich, jewel-toned greens with more park-inspired photos on the walls. Our friends had a room that was accented with ruby-red and had it’s own unique set of artwork.

A hallway in the Park MGM Resort, filled with beautiful park inspired paintings and lots and lots of real greenery!

Inside the Rooms of the Park MGM

Perhaps different from your typical hotel room, there was very little drawer space in the room for unpacking. The room’s closet can only be revealed by closing the door to the bathroom, and a barn-door styled door that slid from side to side. Inside was a small set of drawers, a few hangers, and a safe. Typically at hotels, I am an “unpacker,” and this was definitely something new and unexpected for me.

The closet space in our standard king-sized room at the Park MGM.

I loved the green subway tiles!

The TV in the room is a smart TV, and the hotel provides a port that can hook up to an HDMI cable, if you so wish to put your own entertainment on the TV for the evening. The speakers are also Bluetooth enabled, so you can connect your phone to the speaker system and play your own music while you’re getting ready to go out.

We just got back from our annual trip to Las Vegas, and I am happy as ever to report that, despite this being a trip we take every year, it never gets old!

By now, I would consider us to be veteran Las Vegas explorers (someone make me a badge, please!) and you may have already seen some of my best tips to save money while you’re in Las Vegas.

In Case you Missed it, here are two of my recent posts about making your money go further in Las Vegas:

If you Can’t Afford to Travel, Travel to Las Vegas

Three Apps that can Make Your Next Trip to Vegas
More Affordable

Now let’s get into the good stuff. You’ve saved all the money there is to save, time to have some fun!

Here are the highlights from our most recent trip, along with any important information you might need to include theses stops on your next trip to Las Vegas. I put those extra special tips in bold letters so you can find them again later!

The Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam was the very first stop for us this year. We hopped off the plane, picked up our rental car, and hit the road. I love driving through the desert (okay, I love everything about the desert…) and this quick drive flew by.

We parked at the parking garage (which cost $10) and walked across the Hoover Dam. We had originally intended on doing a tour of the inside of the Dam as well, but the line to get on a tour promised a 1.5 hour wait, and we didn’t have that kind of time to spare this weekend. Next time!

The Bypass Bridge

Instead we went to the “Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge” which is the view that most people are used to seeing the Hoover Dam from. The Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge is a unique piece of architecture in itself, but offers some of the best views of the Hoover Dam.

To get to this vantage point, you’re going to want to pull off to the right as soon as you drive your car through security. (Side Note: you will have to drive your car through security to enter the Hoover Dam grounds. That was very surprising to me.) There is what seems to be a little pull-off point immediately after security. We completely passed it up at first because it didn’t look like more than a place for people to pull off and eat a picnic lunch. But just beyond that parking lot is a path that leads to the bridge, and to some of the best views of the Hoover Dam!

One thing I loved about walking around at the Hoover Dam was the chance to be in two different states (and possibly even two different time zones, depending on the time of year!) at the same time, since the Hoover Dam rests right at the boarder of Nevada and Arizona. Don’t forget to take your iconic photo of your feet standing in two states at the same time. If you take a photo like this, be sure to tag me in it so I can see it!

After the Hoover Dam, we headed back into Las Vegas. We were sure to stop at an In-and-Out Burger before we got too close to the strip. If you don’t have one of these close to where you live, you’re going to want to add this to your itinerary!

Park MGM

When we got back from the Hoover Dam, we moved all of our things into our hotel for the weekend. This time around, we stayed at the Park MGM and absolutely loved it!

<img decoding="async" src="https://greetingsfromkelly.files.wordpress.com/2019/03/dsc03467.jpg?w=683" alt="The Park MGM in Las Vegas

I go way more in depth on our stay here, and include lots of photos of our hotel room so you can see for yourself how adorable it is! You can see all of this on my post: A Sneak Peek at the New Park MGM Resort in Las Vegas!

The Neon Museum

That night, once it got dark and extra cold, we drove down near Fremont Street and took a tour of the Neon Museum. (It gets pretty chilly in Las Vegas at night in the winter. If you’re visiting during the winter months, I’d recommend you bring a jacket!)

Tours can sell out here, and tickets are very easy to purchase online. Jason purchased ours from his phone in the middle of nowhere when we were driving back from the Hoover Dam. Check in at the front desk when you arrive, and they’ll have your tickets waiting for you.

When we visited, tickets were $28 each, and were absolutely worth it! (Remember all that stuff before about saving money on food, shows, flights, and hotels? This is why! Save money early on so you can spend it on more experiences later!) We took the guided tour of the Boneyard and could not recommend it enough! The tour guide was more like a curator than your typical scripted guide. She was so knowledgeable and had all kinds of great stories to share about the history of Las Vegas and what hints the neons could provide to tell this story. Really, really awesome tour!

Once we got home, Jason devoured a book about notorious Las Vegas mobster Benny Binion. We got a brief history of this guy on our tour, but it barely scratched the surface of his crazy life. If you want to check it out, you can find that book over here:

Cirque Du Soleil: KA

Every year, we see a free Cirque Du Soleil show by redeeming our rewards on MyVegas Slots. This year, we saw KA. I don’t have a great gauge for the “typical” Cirque Du Soleil show, because the only other one we’ve seen is Zumanity. The story of KA was a bit slow, but the stunts were very cool! At one point the stage even goes completely vertical and the performers continue on as if it was nothing! Check out the trailer below if you’re still trying to decide if you want to see it (and to get a quick glimpse at the vertical stage!)

Tickets for this show can typically cost between $55 and $200, depending on your seats or the night you go see it. But you can get your tickets completely free if you redeem your rewards on MyVegas Slots for a comp ticket!

Buffets, Buffets, Buffets!

This time in Las Vegas, we had three buffets in one weekend! Here’s a list of the one’s we tried on this trip and what we thought:

MGM Grand Brunch Buffet (redeemed a MyVegas Rewards Buy-One-Get-One on this Buffet!) – Entry to this buffet will cost you $30. Which means we saved $30 with our MyVegas Rewards on brunch for the two of us here!

MGM Grand Dinner Buffet (redeemed a MyVegas Rewards Buy-One-Get-One on this Buffet!) – Entry to this buffet will cost you $40. Which means we saved $40 with our MyVegas Rewards on brunch for the two of us here

The Orleans Brunch Buffet – Entry into this buffet will cost you $21 per person and is available on Sundays only. This buffet also includes unlimited champagne (which also means you can make yourself some unlimited mimosas!) But unless you like cheap champagne, and I mean really cheap champagne, you can skip the bubbly all together and save room for another cheese blintz!

A Post Card From Las Vegas

For me, no trip is complete without sending a Postcard! My friend, Hannah, and I are always sending postcards to each other from our most recent travel destinations. It’s a tradition that many people have abandoned since the dawn of social media, but one we love to do together.

I wanted to include you in on the fun, so I made you a free downloadable postcard with photos from my most recent trip to Las Vegas! Print it out and start a new postcard tradition just like we did! Directions for how to score this postcard are below!

The post Three Apps for a More Affordable Trip to Las Vegas first appeared on Greetings From Kelly.

A trip to Las Vegas is exactly what you make it. If you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a week-long getaway, Vegas would be more than happy to accommodate this dream. However, if you’re looking to save big on a trip to Las Vegas (or even make it one of the most cost-efficient trips you take this year) then you’re in luck, because Vegas lets you do that too! We’ve managed to make Las Vegas More Affordable than ever using apps.

There are three apps you can download today that will make your next trip to Las Vegas significantly cheaper (we saved hundreds using app #1!) and all three of them can be downloaded completely free!

1. MyVegas Slots

MyVegas Slots is a phone or Facebook App that you can download and play, completely free, to earn real rewards that can be used during your stay in Las Vegas! This is my absolute favorite App for our Las Vegas vacations. I love it so much, I wrote an entire post about it!

You can check that post out right here: If you Can’t Afford to Travel, Travel to Las Vegas.

Our tickets to Mandalay Bay’s Aquarium were completely free, thanks to the MyVegas App! (Can you tell I was excited to be hanging out with the sharks?)

2. Amazon Prime Now

Food is expensive in Vegas. Like, really expensive. We grabbed two burger baskets and two cups of water at Wahlburgers on the Strip and managed to get rung up with a $65 bill. (Again I say, two burgers, two sides, and two waters cost us $65!!!)

If you’re flying to Vegas from out of town, bringing food along is not an option, but ordering groceries is!

We are already Amazon Prime members, and the Prime Now service is included with your Prime Membership…but you will need to download a separate app. Once you’ve downloaded Prime Now, you can get groceries delivered right to your hotel within two hours.

Refrigerators and Microwaves will cost you extra on your final hotel bill, so we stuck to snacks that didn’t need to be kept cold or heated up. Bananas, apples, granola or protein bars, bread, and peanut butter. We also added in some muffins for our morning breakfast. These made for quick and easy on-the-go meals during our stay, allowing us to limit our expenses (and caloric intake) to one buffet per day. A perfect way to make make Las Vegas More Affordable!

3. Groupon

Checking Groupon is a must before any trip, but it is especially crucial in Las Vegas. Vegas is a city full of experiences, and Groupon is the king of discounted tickets.

Our most favorite Groupon find? Two extremely discounted tickets to the Open Bar Ferris Wheel, better known as The High Roller. The greatest way to kick off our weekend in Vegas!
