If you’re staying up-to-date on my Instagram, you know that we just got back from a trip to Las Vegas.  This is an annual trip for us, and we are always looking for something new to do during our stay.  This year, we were very excited to give the new Park MGM Resort a try.

During our visit last year, they were well into construction on what was formerly known as the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino.  We were very excited to see the final result of the remodel and rebranding of this hotel, now known as Park MGM, and we were not disappointed.

You might recognize these chandeliers in the Park MGM Resort, they predate the remodel and are a carryover from it’s days as the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino.

Park MGM is a collaboration between MGM Resorts and the Sydell Group intended to attract millennial visitors.  As much as I hate being swept up in the “millennial” age group, they absolutely found their target audience with me.

Our beautifully designed room at the Park MGM with crisp whites accented with jewel-tone Greens. All the artwork on the walls is unique and feels far from the usual hotel art.

Park MGM is modern, sleek, and comfortable.  I was absolutely blow away by it, especially by comparison to the other kitschy hotels on the strip.  Park MGM makes it feel like you’re staying at a luxury hotel, but at half the cost.

Instead of a traditional check-in counter, there are upwards of 30 kiosks lined up throughout the lobby, which at no time seemed to be completely in use.  Hotel staff members were very actively approaching guests as they checked in to help them with the entire process.   With absolutely no wait at all, the check in and check out process was a breeze.

A large “tree” fixture looming over the check-in kiosks. You can see four staff members in this photo alone, all eagerly ready to help guests with the check in process.

We used the fitness facilities during our stay as well.  There were plenty of machines to go around any time of day, water and towels were available on site, and the Wi-Fi was strong enough to stream videos in this area.

The name Park MGM gives you a small taste of what you can expect throughout the rest of the hotel.  The lobby, hallways, and rooms all have a subtle “park” theme to them.  There is lots of greenery, and mossy murals on the walls.  The artwork in the hallways depicts people sitting in a large park green space.  Our room was crisp white, accented by rich, jewel-toned greens with more park-inspired photos on the walls.  Our friends had a room that was accented with ruby-red and had it’s own unique set of artwork.

Inside the Rooms of the Park MGM

Perhaps different from your typical hotel room, there was very little drawer space in the room for unpacking.  The room’s closet can only be revealed by closing the door to the bathroom, and a barn-door styled door that slid from side to side.  Inside was a small set of drawers, a few hangers, and a safe.  Typically at hotels, I am an “unpacker,” and this was definitely something new and unexpected for me.

The TV in the room is a smart TV, and the hotel provides a port that can hook up to an HDMI cable, if you so wish to put your own entertainment on the TV for the evening.  The speakers are also Bluetooth enabled, so you can connect your phone to the speaker system and play your own music while you’re getting ready to go out.

Park MGM was a fresh interpretation of what a Vegas getaway can look like.  I very much look forward to being able to stay here again on our next trip to Vegas.

  1. Kelly, I love your site! The MGM looks beautiful. I haven’t stayed there in 7 years. I normally stay there or at the Bellagio. Vegas is so much fun. Thanks for sharing!
